Configuring an FTP connection
Connect Launchdeck to your server using FTP to upload your application files.
You'll need:
- Your server hostname
- Your FTP username and password
- Your FTP port (usually
21) - The path where your files should be uploaded
1. Add your server
In Launchdeck, add a new server and select FTP as the connection type.
Give your server a recognizable name, then enter:
- Hostname --- your server hostname
- Port --- usually
21 - Username --- your FTP username
- Password --- your FTP password
2. Set the upload path
Enter the directory where Launchdeck should upload your files.
Common upload paths include:
/public_html
or:
/htdocs
The upload path is relative to the FTP user's home directory, rather than an absolute path on the server.
For example, if your FTP user's home directory is:
/domains/example.com
and your website is located at:
/domains/example.com/public_html
enter the following as the upload path:
/public_html
3. Test the connection
Click Test connection to check your configuration.
Launchdeck will connect to your server and verify that the upload path is accessible.
Once the connection succeeds, your server is ready to use for deployments.
